We drove over 13 hours from home in Buena Vista, Colorado to Stanley, Idaho to camp with my grandma and grandpa Moore, my uncle Josh, and pup cousin Bella. The drive wasn’t too bad. I really don’t mind car rides, and we stopped in Hayden, Colorado at Yampa River State Park to camp for a night on the way there. When we finally arrived at our campsite at Decker Flats it was already dark, but I didn’t care. I was so excited to grandma and grandpa.

On our first full day there the weather was hot! The humans cruised around on bikes on the dirt roads around camp and I followed. I couldn’t wait to go swimming in the river and my parents even decided join me. They’re normally to chicken to jump in the cold water, well at least mom is anyways. We also just chillaxed in the hammock and explored the burn area around camp  (from a wildfire a few years back).

After uncle Josh and Bella arrived, we decided to venture over to Alturas Lake to get out on the water and take in some mountain views. Unfortunately, it was really smoky from a nearby wildfire so we couldn’t see the surrounding mountains. Either way, Bella and had a blast cruising around in the double ducky with G-ma.

I also went out on the lake on mom’s stand up paddle board. For some reason the stand up paddle board makes me way more nervous than the inflatable kayak! We also went back to the Boat Box Hot Springs for a night soak. I actually got my feet wet that time. Man I love camping with family! Until next time!
